Feel free. Feel the Ride!

The Powder Snow Country

If you feel a slight tingling sensation, if you can hear the powder snow crunching beneath your freeriding skis, or if you long for the breeze of cold mountain air, we promise you one thing: Lech Zürs am Arlberg is the place you want to be.

There isn’t too much more we can say about the more than 305 kilometres of impressive skiing against the backdrop of the Vorarlberg Alps. We could go on about the fact that Lech Zürs am Arlberg is one of the largest contiguous ski areas in Austria. But in reality we recommend that you try our more than 200 km of high-Alpine powder runs for yourself. They are accessible at any time via our modern lifts and cable cars with ease and in comfort, without a long ascent, with friends, guides or ski instructors. In winter, you are quite likely to meet Lorraine Huber, one of the top stars of the winter-sports scene! The 2017 Freeride World Champion, who lives in Lech, will be heading towards the summit as often as possible during the winter months.

RESPECT YOUR LINES!

Lech Zürs am Arlberg is known worldwide as a paradise for freeriders and ski mountaineers. To ensure that nature remains untouched and can recover, we are proud of our protected zones and natural areas that are not allowed to be entered. We therefore ask you not to enter the forest zones and protected areas in order to leave these retreats to nature!

What makes freeriding so amazing?

Freeriding is freedom. No slope limits, no easy descents. Just the powder, your skis, and you. The choice of the perfect line through the ‘pow’ is up to you

Winters at the Arlberg mean powder snow as far as the eye can see and so it is only a matter of time until newcomers will also enjoy off-piste riding, ski touring and powder snow skiing. In wintertime, choose between the comfort of a cable car or the challenge of a ski tour on the Arlberg. The choice of whether to go off-piste close to the slopes or to ascend via touring skis to the summit is up to you. Either way, the powder snow is waiting. For those searching for the ultimate powder snow sensation, the Arlberg offers something truly exclusive: Lech Zürs is the only ski resort in Austria to offer heliskiing. The flight alone is an experience as you take off vertically and set off towards pristine powder snow. After a short flight, you’ll land on the untouched summit where the real freeride fun begins.
