Establishment of high quality standards even before construction begins.
Focus on environmentally friendly building materials that also meet climate protection criteria in order to minimise greenhouse gas emissions.
Ecologically degradable building materials that are easy to dispose of. A well-thought-out waste management concept was an integral part of the overall concept in order to reduce waste during the construction phase and ensure the environmentally friendly use of resources.
Commissioning of regional tradesmen and craftsmen. Over 90 per cent of the suppliers came from Vorarlberg, and they used 100 per cent building materials from the European region.
The building complies with the climate protection ministry's klimaaktiv building standard silver. This is one of the most demanding seals of approval for sustainable construction in Europe.
Energy from nature
The resulting building stands out as an energy-efficient structure thanks to its energy efficiency class A rating. The building is heated entirely by the Lech biomass heating plant. Controlled ventilation ensures a pleasant indoor climate in all weather conditions. The heat recovery system used ensures high energy efficiency. The building complies with the climate protection ministry's klimaaktiv building standard silver. This is one of the most demanding seals of approval for sustainable construction in Europe.
Energy-efficient technology
Lechwelten uses only electricity from Austrian renewable energy sources supplied by illwerke vkw AG.
The Lechwelten hall uses the latest energy-efficient technology, which contributes significantly to reducing energy consumption. State-of-the-art LED lighting and an intelligent heating and cooling system ensure optimum comfort with minimum energy consumption. In addition, an energy cockpit enables comprehensive monitoring of all energy flows in the building. The energy cockpit allows all relevant data to be monitored and analysed in real time, enabling precise control and adjustment of energy consumption. This ensures sustainable and efficient operation of the hall.
Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings & Events
The Austrian Ecolabel for conference facilities is crucial for ensuring the highest possible standards in economic, ecological and social terms. A sustainable event location is essential for obtaining the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings & Events. Lechwelten has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel since November 2024 and offers event organisers the perfect conditions for staging a certified sustainable event.
Barrier-free access to the event
It is our sincere intention to welcome people with disabilities in all areas. The entire building has been designed to be easily accessible to all people with disabilities and to effectively eliminate barriers. Through this sustainability measure, we are creating the conditions for all people to experience valuable encounters, personal exchange and cultural enjoyment. You can find more information on this under Barrier-free access.
