Göppinger hut

On the Gamsboden, a unique high plateau between the upper Lechtal and the Großer Walsertal, it lies majestically at 2,245 m above sea level - far away from everything. Eat well, sleep well, have a good time in a unique environment - a mountain experience like in the past, far away from noise, hectic and mass tourism. The hosts of the huts mainly use food from the region in their cuisine. This is not only due to the altitude, the sometimes extreme climate and the remoteness of the Göppinger hut. Stefan and Veronika attach great importance to origin, quality and "fresh cuisine". Vorarlberg and Tyrol are well known far beyond the borders of their respective countries for their locally produced products. Fruit and vegetables come mainly from Tyrol and the Lake Constance region, meat and sausage from Austria, cheese from Tyrol and Vorarlberg, schnapps from Tyrol and bread from Lech am Arlberg. The hut landlords conjure up Austrian classics, hearty hut fare and regional dishes (vegetarian on request). The specialities of the house include cheese dumplings and apple strudel. There is a mountaineer's meal for members of the Alpine Club at a reduced rate. There are also daily homemade cakes, such as carrot cake, red wine cake or Linzer cake. Please let us know in good time if you suffer from allergies or food intolerances so that we can take them into consideration. Vegan dishes on request. VILLAGE TABLE Hotel Sandhof, Lech Shared meals - not just nourishment - but food for the soul Social distancing has been and still is the order of the day. But humans are social beings – shared meals among company, friends, and acquaintances strengthen cohesion. All of this can contribute to a good coexistence and help in overcoming the current challenges more easily. Moreover, shared meals create space for communication. Throughout the summer, everyone pursues their own activities, but at the village table, everyone comes together. Then it's time and opportunity to talk, share experiences, exchange wishes, address problems, and seek solutions. Our 12-meter-long table – made of Lech spruce – heated and covered outdoors serves not only as a small summer restaurant but also as a village table. Locals/Friends Guest Chefs at the Village Table - cook their favorite recipes - it should be uncomplicated - everyone eats together at the big village table - food is served from generous bowls - like at a big family meal. Everyone is responsible for ensuring that the person to their left and right always has a full plate and a well-filled glass. Every week on Mondays, the summer restaurant has a special theme. In order to accommodate as many locals and guests as possible at the table and allow them to be "Guests at the Village Table," many even bring their own chairs. A simple dish will be cooked, and suitable wines, water & coffee are included. What makes it special is WHO cooks. For here, locals get the chance to showcase their creative culinary skills.
