A breathtaking view invites you to make your way to the viewing platform. For those who don't feel up to the long climb, there is also good news: the Valluga can also be reached comfortably by cable car. At the Vallugabahn I mountain station, you can treat yourself to some refreshments at the “Valluga View” restaurant after climbing to the summit.

Facts about Valluga

The Valluga is located on the border between Tyrol and Vorarlberg, and also lies on the European watershed between the Danube and Rhine rivers. There are several routes to choose from for the ascent, and an overnight stay in a mountain hut can also be wonderfully integrated into the adventure. A weather radar has been in operation in the area of the Vallugabahn II mountain station since 2007, enabling comprehensive observation of Vorarlberg.

Viewing platform at the summit

The viewing platform is the highlight of the trip, whether you take the easier option of the cable cars or the more challenging climb. Enjoy these moments at lofty heights with an unforgettable view of the Lechtal Alps, the Verwall Mountains, and many other peaks. The platform was built in 1955, together with the Valluga II cable car, and to this day, many guests enjoy the unique panorama every year.

The ascent to the Valluga

If you would like to explore the Valluga using the cable cars, first travel to St. Anton, where you can take a comfortable seat on the Galzigbahn cable car. Once you arrive at the mountain station, the Vallugabahn I cable car awaits you. During this journey through the Steißbach Valley, you will discover the landscape of the Arlberg region from a new perspective. The final stage to the viewing platform takes about two minutes on the Vallugabahn II. Look forward to impressive rides that take you to an altitude of almost 3,000 meters above sea level.
