Every season of the year at the Arlberg offers beautiful hiking trails with seasonal special features: snow-covered winter landscapes, blooming spring flowers, lush mountain meadows or the unique colour spectacle in autumn when meadows and trees prepare for winter.

On the hiking trails at the Arlberg, hikers can experience nature up close and personal. On the varied trails, hikers pass through gentle meadows, barren rocks and lonely mountain lakes. Two hiking trails have been certified with the Austrian hiking quality seal: The Steinernes Meer and the Geoweg at the Rüfikopf mountain. We’ll describe what distinguishes these hiking trails, but you’ll have to see these beautiful places for yourself.

Hiking trails in Lech Zürs

On three themed hiking trails, hikers can explore the region at their own pace. Lechweg Trail, certified as a Leading Quality Trail of Europe, takes you on the journey along the Lech river from the river’s source to the wild river landscape. The Tannberg takes hikers back in time and gives them an insight into the old Walser people village of Lech. The Green Ring leads hikers through a mystical world where legends, fables and modernity merge. Stories about mysterious inhabitants and events in this varied natural landscape can be read in the literary accompaniment “A Samurai on the Kriegerhorn” by Daniela Egger. Whether you’re keen on a day trip for two or a hiking holiday with your family, the network of hiking trails in Lech Zürs am Arlberg is so expansive that every day a new adventure awaits.

Keen on completing longer stages or perhaps just hiking on short trails? Either way, the trail planner will provide you with an overview of all hiking trails. Plan your hike according to the weather and your preferences. The degree of difficulty, distance and metres of ascent can also be entered. Whether or not you keep to the estimated time is up to you. But keep in mind that an extended break at a mountain lake or on the summit, in order to lose yourself in the panoramic view, is a welcome break after a strenuous ascent. Rüfispitze, Mohnenfluh or Karhorn? There are plenty of peaks between Lech, Zürs, Warth, Stuben, St. Christoph, St. Anton, Schröcken and Klösterle. In good weather, the Arlberg region is popular with hikers and many other sports enthusiasts. Trail running, mountain biking, golf, tennis and climbing can all be readily enjoyed here. Those who come to the Arlberg for training, and don’t want to do without fitness equipment, sports courses and the benefits of indoor training, will find a modern, fully equipped training facility including a wellness area at sport.park.lech.
