NEW 2025: Summer operation of the Zugerbergbahn and Balmalp in Lech Zürs am Arlberg The Zugerbergbahn takes you up to the mountain station at an altitude of 2,100 m in just a few minutes. The Zugerbergbahn cabins offer enough space for mountain bikes, baby carriages and people with wheelchairs, who can reach the Balmalp barrier-free from the mountain station. Once at the top of the mountain station, the Balmalp awaits you with an inviting sun terrace and a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Experience Lech Zürs am Arlberg in all its glory! Use the Zugerbergbahn for hikes along the Green Ring or for mountain bike tours through the region. It is an ideal starting point. At the Rud-Alpe you can enjoy Austrian and regional specialities in beautiful surroundings and marvel at the stunning views of the Lech mountains from the large sun terrace. Children can look forward to plenty of action at the “Grüner Rätsel-Ring”, perfect for families who enjoy hiking, and on the Arlenzauberweg trail to the Rud-Alpe, not forgetting the large water playground and petting zoo. The Rud-Alpe is about a 20-minute walk from Lech along the footpath, or you can take the Bergbahn Lech-Oberlech cable car to the Burg plateau in Oberlech, and from there it’s a gentle stroll to the hut. After a strenuous day’s biking, the Rud-Alpe is also the perfect refreshment stop. Hot food all day. Meeting place fish pond Zug - fun for young and old. There is no entrance fee or charge for fishing at the fish pond. Only for the caught fish quantity the kilogram price is charged. About 2 - 4 fish make one kilogram. Our kitchen team will be happy to prepare your catch, fried, baked, blue, smoked - freshly caught, gutted or filleted... Lech can look back on a long settlement history. The name of the village alone indicates its Rhaeto-Romanic origins. Around 1300, Walser colonists settled in the densely wooded Tannberg area and began clearing the steep mountain forests.
