NEW 2024: Summer operation of the Zugerbergbahn and Balmalp in Lech Zürs am Arlberg
The summer experiences in Lech Zürs am Arlberg will be extended this year with an exciting attraction: the Zugerbergbahn and Balmalp will open their doors to visitors and offer an incomparable alpine experience from the end of June to the beginning of September 2024.
The Zugerbergbahn, newly built just a few years ago, impresses with its modern 10-seater cabins, which transport guests to the mountain station at 2,100 m above sea level in just a few minutes. These cabins also offer sufficient space for mountain bikes, baby carriages and people with wheelchairs, who can reach Balmalp barrier-free from the mountain station.
Guests are spoiled with culinary delights on the Balmalp. The Balmalp is known for its inviting sun terrace with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The view of the Zugertal valley and the Rote Wand is an absolute highlight.
With the opening of the Zugerbergbahn cable car and the Balmalp for summer operation, Lech Zürs am Arlberg offers its visitors another opportunity to discover the beauty of the region on foot ─ for example on a hike along the 3rd stage of the Green Ring ─ or by mountain bike.
There are only a small number of paid parking spaces available at the Zugerbergbahn valley station. For this reason, we recommend parking vehicles in the Schlosskopf day parking lot or in the Anger parking garage in Lech. From there, you can take the local bus to Zug, for example, to get to the Zugerbergbahn valley station.
