Safety measures for Covid -19

Dear guests,

our accommodations and we are very much looking forward to hopefully welcoming you back again in March! Until then, several lifts and cable cars in Lech Zürs are open for you.We will keep you up to date on our website.

We hope to see you soon and safely in the winter paradise of Lech Zürs am Arlberg!

Last summer season, we already had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in dealing with this special situation. Using these learnings as a foundation, we have been able to work out a set of measures in recent weeks and months in collaboration with a safety expert specially committed to Lech Zürs and all our local partners. This will be valid for the entire region and is supported by all those involved. Only with a joint and comprehensible approach can we achieve our declared goal: the highest possible safety and hygiene standards for all involved with the least possible restrictions for your holiday experience.

Below, please allow us to give you a brief overview of how we will ensure that you feel safe during your stay with us in Lech Zürs:

In good hands during your winter holiday in Lech Zürs

Best possible conditions...

  • More time, more space - This claim has represented our region well for almost two decades now, and for good reason. Today, however, this sentiment takes on a whole new meaning. After all, now more than ever, Lech Zürs stands for quality before quantity, for spaciousness and space. Keeping a safe distance is easier here.
  • The information office has already been equipped with Plexiglas panels. All our employees will also wear FFP2/KN95 masks. You are also obligated to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth here.
  • Keeping a safe distance is easy thanks to floor markings.
  • For your holiday in Lech Zürs am Arlberg, we recommend that you download and activate the official "Stopp-Corona" app. More information is available here: https://www.stopp-corona.at/

The Winterkodex Vorarlberg was developed in close cooperation with stakeholders and representatives from the tourism industry. This coordinated winter strategy includes numerous measures to ensure that your holiday in Vorarlberg is as safe as possible, including

Ski resort

Ski schools
  • Ski courses can be booked online on the websites of all ski schools.
  • Lunches for ski school groups (especially for small groups) will be coordinated on an ongoing basis with companies by the Lech ski school and all applicable regulations shall be observed when visiting the restaurant.
  • At the assembly points, appropriate measures will be taken to provide more space and to minimise waiting time. This year, the ski schools (Lech, Oberlech and Zürs) are instead well prepared to implement the current regulation and will be happy to provide more information.
  • The High Zürs Skiguides work exclusively with small groups or in private lessons. As a result, setting up the day to meet individual needs is possible.  In such instances, skiers are mainly in the free ski area and therefore less exposed to other skiers.
Bus transport
  • In order to avoid overcrowding, the plan is to have five additional buses available during the 2020/21 winter season. This will increase the transport capacity by about 30%.
  • Dedicated safety officers will ensure that procedures are calm and orderly during peak times.
Restaurants and accommodation services in general
  • Our restaurants and hotels may open again on the 24th of January 2021.
  • The current distance and hygiene rules apply everywhere and are implemented accordingly by all companies in Lech Zürs.
  • The past months have taught us that the comprehensive ability to contact trace is paramount in avoiding collective quarantine. For this purpose, we recommend that all guests, locals and staff use the STOPP Corona App from the Red Cross.

  • As of Monday, 26.10.2020, guest registration is mandatory for all gastronomy services in Vorarlberg. Contact tracing, the management of contact persons, is an indispensable tool for tracing the chain of infection and interrupting it as early as possible. For this reason, guest registration in Vorarlberg for the 2020/21 winter season is being made compulsory in the gastronomy sector by a state ordinance. Would you like more information in this regard? The State of Vorarlberg has proposed a uniform solution: https://winterkodex.vorarlberg.travel/en/contact-tracing/
  • Unfortunately, there will be no nightlife in bars and clubs as in normal years this winter.
  • Many of our restaurants will be offering take-away meals in winter, some restaurants will have their own delivery service, and we are in the process of setting up a digital table reservation system for the winter season. More details about all these options will follow in due course.

Events

All winter events are currently being checked for feasibility with regard to safety measures.

  • Fantastic Gondolas: The anniversary year of this award-winning event cannot be held due to current regulations and will therefore be postponed until winter 2021.
  • Advent and Christmas schedule: Due to current regulations, we will not be holding Advent and Christmas events this year.
  • Arlberg Weinberg event: This culinary event series will probably take place at a later date during the winter season.
  • The 14th European Media Summit Lech has also been postponed. At the 14th European Media Summit from 15-17 April 2021, leading international personalities from politics, business, science and the media will seek clear answers for the future of Europe and the world.
  • The White Ring: We left no stone unturned and checked all possibilities, but we have to announce that due to the current Covid regulation both races "The White Ring – The Speed Race" and "The White Ring – The Race" will be cancelled for 2021. With a lot of effort we went into the preparations for this year's races - but the health and safety of all participants and contributors come first

Precise preparation...

An official Covid-19 Commission has been set up in Lech Zürs to deal professionally with the current situation. Supported by a safety expert who also works with the Vorarlberg State Government, the commission meets every two weeks to evaluate the measures taken and adjust them if necessary. In the following, allow us to give you a short and clear overview of what these currently look like:
