The Lechweg

The Lechweg runs along one of the last wild river landscapes in Europe. On about 125 kilometres the hiker accompanies the Lech from its source near Lake Formarinsee to the Lech Falls in Füssen in the Allgäu.

The path to yourself...

Feeling nature – hiking on the Lech Trail

The Lechweg leads past one of the largest ibex colonies in Europe, a waterfall that magically dries up and rises again every year, the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Austria and the Bavarian royal castles. The trail connects three regions and two countries with their traditions and stories. From the Arlberg area to the Tyrolean nature park region Lechtal-Reutte to the southern Allgäu: the Lech has shaped all three regions over the centuries. From the Romans and their Alpine crossings to the Swabian children and the raftsmen – the Lech plays an important role in every history.

Information about the road reconstruction of the L198 between Lech and Warth!

Between June 2019 and August 2021, the Gaisbach and Rüfetobel bridges will be renovated separately.
Due to this urgent renovation, there will be traffic disruption.

From the beginning of September 2019, traffic will only be single-lane.

From 30 September 2019 to November 2019, a total closure of the L198 will be necessary.
