Nature & the outdoors: Trails, golf, and more

Hiking remains one of the most compelling ways to experience Lech Zürs. In summer 2026, the Lechweg trail celebrates ist 15th anniversary. Certified as a Leading Quality Trail, the long-distance route runs from Lake Formarin along the young Lech River to the Lechfall waterfall in Füssen, opening up one of the last wild river landscapes in the Alps. The hiking offer is complemented by the themed trail the Green Ring, which interweaves spectacular views, mountain legends, and art installations. For more ambitious mountain athletes, the Arlberg Trail and new trail running routes awaits. Thirteen carefully selected tours, covering a total of 206 kilometres (128 miles) and around 10,000 metres (32,808 feet) of elevation gain, lead through varied landscapes and create intense nature experiences for different levels of ability. Furthermore, a new driving range will enhance the infrastructure at Austria’s highest-altitude golf course, which was also named the country’s most beautiful 9-hole course in 2025.

Culinary highlights: Fine dining in Lech Zürs

Lech Zürs enters the summer season with exceptional culinary credentials. In spring, Griggeler Stuba at Burg Vital Resort and Rote Wand Chef’s Table were each awarded two MICHELIN stars, while La Fenice at Hotel Arlberg received one MICHELIN star. Rote Wand Stuben also holds a MICHELIN Green Star. Together with 60 Gault&Millau toques and 85 Falstaff forks, these awards give Lech Zürs a culinary profile that reaches far beyond the size of the village. Many of the award-winning restaurants are also open in summer, making Lech Zürs an enticing destination for culinary travel.

Cultural events: Music, art, and contemporary debate

This summer Lech Zürs once again brings together cultural events with breathtaking alpine settings. Impact Lech and Philosophicum Lech address some of the major questions of our time, while the Lech Classic Festival, Jazzbühne Lech and Musikantentag showcase the musical breadth of the season. The Arlberg Classic Car Rally is also firmly anchored in the summer calendar, bringing historic automobiles to the mountains against a striking alpine backdrop. Skyspace-Lech by James Turrell, the Green Ring with its art installations along the hiking route and curious – creative space Lechwith its exhibition “Sommerfrische” turn the alpine landscape itself into a space for cultural resonance and reflection.

Family holidays: Nature experiences for all ages

Lech Zürs is continuing to expand its summer offer for families. At Rud-Alpe, the water playground and petting zoo are being extended, while the popular marble run at Balmalp is being expanded. Themed trails such as Gipsi’s Riddle Trail, the heated Lech forest swimming pool and the family programme included with the Lech Card provide easy, accessible ways to enjoy movement, nature and time together. In cooperation with outdoor partner Arlberg Alpin, the programme also includes activities such as archery, canyoning and climbing for the whole family.

Alpine Landscapes

Beyond its outstanding events and high-quality offers, summer in Lech Zürs is defined above all by the exceptional alpine landscape of the Arlberg. Lake Formarin, the starting point of the Lechweg trail, Lake Spuller with its quiet sense of space, and Lake Butzen in its clear high-alpine setting are just a few of the region’s many scenic highlights. Together, they create a setting where nature, movement and relaxation are closely intertwined.
