"House of Liquid Gold"

Clemens Berger's fast-paced satire takes us into the crazy and yet all too real beautiful new world, where everything becomes a commodity and a single mother can become a social media icon.

Babies need milk – mother’s milk or formula. This is where Clarissa comes in with the "House of Liquid Gold": Women like Maya, who has so far lived off odd jobs as a single mother, pump their excess milk in a safe environment and receive a share of the sales. This goes well until the largest milk powder manufacturer can no longer deliver and purchased breast milk becomes vital. When Maya aligns herself with the desperate women with their hungry babies, she becomes a social media icon: She is celebrated and bombarded with shitstorms, she receives millions of offers and death threats. However, Berger's novel is more than a bizarre portrayal of our society: He tells a touching story of solidarity, the struggle for survival, and maternal love.

Clemens Berger born in 1979 in Southern Burgenland, studied philosophy in Vienna, where he lives as a freelance author. He has received numerous awards and scholarships for his work. Following the success of Sepia and the Awakening of Ink Magic, the second volume of Theresa Bell's atmospheric fantasy trilogy, Sepia and the Conspiracy of Flohall, was released this spring. The story of the orphan girl Sepia, who discovers the secrets of ink magic in the city of Flohall, has proven to be an outstanding debut.

In the first volume, Sepia and the Awakening of Ink Magic, Theresa Bell crafts a richly atmospheric world where ink is more precious than gold, and the art of printing goes hand in hand with alchemy and magic. Bell writes vividly and precisely, with a keen sense of language, rhythm, and character development. Fantastic and historically crafted elements blend convincingly – particularly the depiction of printing is much more than a backdrop: it forms a vibrant aspect of the narrative. In Sepia and the Conspiracy of Flohall, the situation in the city intensifies: as Sepia prepares for her first printing exam, she becomes entangled in a web of intrigue. A mysterious creature with a rat skull appears in Flohall, a legendary book is set to be revealed at the masquerade ball, and traces of a once-feared alchemist suggest that his influence is not yet dispelled.

Once again, Theresa Bell skillfully weaves craftsmanship and fantastic motifs with a gripping conspiracy story. The Sepia series impresses not only with its narrative power but also with the stunning illustrations by artist Eva Schöffmann-Davidov. Alongside the expressive cover design, she brings to life lead lice, ash spirits, and paper creatures in numerous vignettes. Black-and-white and appearing as if drawn with ink, they visually capture the unique flair of the story.

The third and final volume of the series, Sepia and the Secret of the Ink Dragon, will be released in March 2026.

"Chimera"

A community of teachers and students on an island fights to preserve biodiversity. In hanging gardens and lively drawings, they try to save life and not drown themselves. Among them is Alice, who pretends to be Alois on the island. One day she leaves the island and wanders through the deserted expanse of the mainland. After years of oppression, she wants to perceive where she begins and ends, what she desires, and whom she can love. Meanwhile, Gregor, the friend and confidant, remains on the island. Harsh experiences take their toll; he carries a trauma that he tries to contain through drawing. A stranger who appears in the gardens slowly gains access to him. While Alice wanders through drained meadows and scarred forests, Gregor's world begins to shake.

Chimera tells with great poetic power of the pressing issues of our time, of the interconnection of all life and death. It touches deep within and resonates for a long time.

Hotel Sonnenburg

Sonnenburg is situated in one of the most famous ski resorts of the world, on the sun terrace of the Arlberg mountains, next to the slopes in the traffic-free village Oberlech. In summer it is possible to park your car in front of the hotel. The cable car Lech-Oberlech connects us with the center of Lech. In winter it operates between 07.00 am and 01.00 in the night and in summer from 08.30 am until 06.00 pm.

You have a choice of two categories: the 4-star superior standard that you are already accustomed to in the Sonnenburg's Landhaus, or the added comfort of the Sonnenburg's 5-star Stammhaus. The Landhaus is connected with the Stammhaus by a 90 meter long mirrored hallway, so that you can enjoy the amenities of both buildings easily.

In 1967, the Sonnenburg became the first hotel in Oberlech to be equipped with a pool. And a dip in our large new pool will be even more relaxing, especially with spectacular views of the mountains. The ladies and family spa areas are also being upgraded.
What's more, comfortable sitting areas are being created for our guests in the hotel lobby, the reception is being moved, and a room with wonderful panoramic views will be available for a wide range of different events, including seminars, dinners or small meetings.

Not only the playroom, but also our kindergarten “kid’s world” is very requested and popular.
The first attempts on skies can be made directly in front of the hotel. Ski school Oberlech is located just a snowball’s throw away from the Sonnenburg. After a day full of exercise you will find time and calmness to enjoy our spa area with pool and several sauna possibilities with separate family sauna. Our different restaurants offer various culinary delights.
We also offer professional services and amenities for congress guests to climb mountains of knowledge.
Experience wonderful moments with your family. With people, who are delighted about your stay. At a place, that is revisited by generations.
