Laurentius Night and Solar Eclipse 2026 at Rüfikopf – Two Celestial Events in One Day

On August 12, 2026 Laurentius Night invites you once again to a special nature experience above Lech Zürs. At an altitude of about 2,350 meters at Rüfikopf, the clear mountain air and dark night provide ideal conditions to observe the peak of the Perseid shower – an annual meteor shower that draws many small light trails across the sky.

In this year, another rare celestial phenomenon is added: In the early evening of August 12, a partial solar eclipse will be visible over Lech Zürs – with an obscuration of about 90%. Two natural events in one day that create a special setting for a stay in the mountains.

Der Weiße Ring - Das Rennen

The White Ring links the Lech, Zürs and Zug ski resorts on fantastic pistes in a spectacular setting. On 22 kilometers and more than 5,500 meters of altitude more than 1000 participants compete every year anew. And it's not just about being fast on the slopes. The time is not stopped also during the altogether 8 elevator travels. 20 athletes go together on the track and try to master the White Ring as fast as possible. Olympic champion and world champion Patrick Ortlieb holds the course record with an incredible time of 44min 45sec.
Absolutely unique is the mixture of folk ski races and party atmosphere, which fascinates spectators and participants every year and creates a special atmosphere at the whole Arlberg. No matter whether you are a professional sportsman, ex-racing driver, hobby sprinter or pleasure skier, everyone can master the challenge The White Ring - The Race and be proud of his achievements.

The White Ring - The course
The course of the race runs along the legendary ski route and leads through the villages of Lech, Zürs and Zug. The race traditionally starts at Rüfikopf. Directional gates have been set up along the entire route, which must be adhered to until the end.

Winter RE:WIND Lech Zürs

The winter returns to Lech Zürs. On December 2, 2026 the slopes and ski runs will open for the winter season 2026/27 – and just two days later, the first snow transforms into festival mood: From December 4 to 6, 2026 Winter RE:WIND Lech Zürs combines top-notch skiing with live music, DJ sets and the distinctive atmosphere of the Alps.

The first turns of winter, the crunch of freshly groomed snow, the vastness of the mountains – and in the midst of it, pulsating sounds merging into something special with the tranquility of the landscape. During the day, international DJ and live acts will provide the perfect symbiosis of alpine lifestyle and sound experience in the huts of Lech Zürs and on the festival stage in the Schlegelkopfareal.

First tracks. Fresh snow. Good vibes.

Three days, one weekend, one feeling: Winter RE:WIND Lech Zürs opens the season where skiing, music, and mountains become one.
