Freiburger hut

Our Freiburg hut was built in 1912 as an Alpine club hut by the Freiburg section. It has been expanded several times since then: in 1932, 1958, and most recently from 1975 to 1977.

In autumn 1993, our solar system went into operation, providing our hut with electricity to this day. At that time, it was one of the first solar systems ever installed on an alpine club hut. This was made possible through close cooperation between the Freiburg-Breisgau section and the Fraunhofer Institute.

Since that year, we also have our own water tank, enabling an autonomous, comfortable, and yet environmentally friendly supply for the hut.

Göppinger hut

On the Gamsboden, a unique high plateau between the upper Lechtal valley and the Großes Walsertal, it majestically sits at an altitude of 2,245 m – far away from everything. Enjoy good food, a comfortable sleep, and a great time in a unique environment – a mountain experience like in the old days, away from noise, hustle, and mass tourism.

The hut hosts mainly use regional products in their kitchen. This is not only related to the altitude, the sometimes extreme climate, and the seclusion of the Göppinger Hut. Stefan and Veronika place great importance on origin and quality and “fresh cuisine.”

Vorarlberg and Tyrol are well known far beyond the country's borders for their locally produced goods. Fruits and vegetables mainly come from Tyrol and the Lake Constance region, meat and sausage from Austria, cheese from Tyrol and Vorarlberg, schnapps from Tyrol, and bread from Lech am Arlberg.

From these, the hut hosts conjure up Austrian classics, hearty hut fare, and regional dishes (vegetarian options available upon request). The house specialties include Käspressknödel and apple strudel. For members of the Alpine Club, there is a climber's meal available at a reduced rate.

Additionally, there are daily homemade cakes, such as carrot cake, red wine cake, or Linzer torte.

Please inform us in good time if you suffer from allergies or food intolerances so that we can take them into consideration.
Vegan dishes available upon request.
