The Yurt, Season VII
In its seventh winter season, the legendary yurt of Zayad Shah finds a new home in front of the unique Hotel Kristiania in Lech.
The Yurt is much more than a bar – it is an extraordinary living room for a time, a place for encounters, art, and culture.
Under the warm felt roof of the Kyrgyz nomad tent, carefully selected wines and spirits meet personal hospitality and a distinctive atmosphere.
Here, people come together, conversations develop, and the boundaries between guests and friends blur.
A place full of character, charm, and understatement. In the spirit of the hosts Zayad Shah and Gertrud Schneider.
So far at The Yurt: At times, guests in the handmade Kyrgyz yurt feel so comfortable that they return not just once during their holiday week but multiple times. However, it can also happen that music-loving guests – wisely after the host releases the speakers – link up and share their private playlist. This is clearly the exception, but the English guest DJ who recently did this on two consecutive days dubbed The Yurt his favorite living room in this wide world for a reason.
Just don't call the yurt an igloo
It may have to do with the fact that “there's such an igloo, which does not occur anywhere else in the whole Arlberg”—so recommended to a German couple. They open the wooden door, slightly tilt their heads to enter the brightly lacquered willow dome, which is larger than it appears from the outside, and see people in T-shirts. It's pleasantly warm, the Japanese Roku Gin mixes with the great tonic from Le Tribute. Before you know it and after waking the other spirits from the Japanese “House of Suntory” (Toki Whiskey or Haku Vodka), the time spent is good. The same happened to the German couple when they returned with the rest of their family, from their 20-year-old grandchildren to their 80-year-old grandparents.
