Readings

This summer, in addition to the well-known literary events, we are pleased to present two new formats in collaboration with Helga Reder from the Tyrolia bookstore in Bludenz:

On August 22, 2026 we are delighted to welcome Marlene Kilga with her crime novel "Death Comes to Vorarlberg" at Stäfeli. The reading will last about 45 minutes - afterwards, there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas with the local author in this personal setting.

We are happy to accept registrations directly at the hotel or in writing via email. We look forward to your presence!

12.12.2026

Bernhard Aichner will read on Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. in the Sonnenburg Library from his new novel "Totenfrau Die Rückkehr". The reading is suitable for adults.

The Totenfrau Returns - the sequel to the international success story

Ten years have passed since Blum last committed murder. She lives, along with her partner Reza, on a yacht in Croatia. To make money, they offer charter trips to the surrounding islands; otherwise, they live inconspicuously and withdrawn. Blum no longer believes she will be discovered ― until an unexpected death on board forces her to cross her boundaries once again. Not only are Blum's and Reza's lives at stake, but also those of their children.

With over one million copies sold, Bernhard Aichner is among the most successful German-speaking thriller authors. His books have been translated into 16 languages, and his "Totenfrau" has been successfully adapted for Netflix, with two seasons ranking in the top 10 in 67 countries worldwide. Aichner, who also writes novels, crime stories, screenplays, and plays in addition to his thrillers, was born in 1972 in East Tyrol and now lives with his family in Innsbruck. He has been awarded numerous prizes for his work, and the Times describes Aichner's writing as "original, powerful, and captivating".
