Reading enriches and fills the heart and mind – which is why the Sonnenburg has been a literature hotel since 2016. However, books have had a special significance here for much longer: an appreciation of literature permeates every aspect of the hotel: in libraries, at readings, through book boxes in all rooms. Sonnenburg has now taken the next step in texture: in the gourmet restaurant “Textur,” the basic human needs for physical and spiritual nourishment are interwoven.
Unique dishes and unique texts come together in “Textur” in a delicate menu: six courses spread over ten chapters become an unforgettable overall experience. Unexpected and surprising, each course transports you to its own world of flavors. It tells a short story that complements the others while also having its own character. As you enjoy the avocado, papaya, and macadamia nut sorbet, you will find yourself dreaming of Rudyard Kipling's “The Jungle Book,” while the intermediate course of pork cheek with watercress risotto, black garlic, and truffles will immerse you in Wilhelm Busch's “St. Anthony of Padua.”
