Turn-by-turn directions

Take the free hiking bus (please note the toll) from the starting point towards Formarinsee. Get off at the last stop Formarinsee. Continue to the Formarin Alp, where the path branches off to the left uphill. This is followed by a short steep upswing over steel-backed rock heels. Soon the path leads a little more moderately through a wide hollow to Schönbühel. From here it goes slightly down to the Upper Johannesjoch. From here it goes down steeply into a hollow. Now follows a steep ascent to just below the summit of eastern Johanneskopf. From here the path leads in a pleasant gradient to the Göppinger hut (2,245 m). After a break follow the path to the right downhill to Laubegg. From here steep serpentines lead down to the Oberer Älpele. The path widens here and leads leisurely down to Gasthaus Älpele. From here you take the free hiking bus (please note the toll obligation) back to the starting point.
