PINK JAMBU - Royal silk fabrics from Pahang, Malaysia

The exquisite Royal Pahang Weave fabrics from the Malaysian Sultanate of Pahang form the basis for Pink Jambu's signature fabrics, which are handcrafted using the ancient technique of batik, a wax-resistant method of dyeing fabrics.

The revival of this craft is credited to Her Majesty Queen Azizah of Pahang, Malaysia. These fabrics have a long history and are considered formal wear in Malaysian high society - now they have found their way to the Arlberg.

As part of the Rotary Table on Friday, 2 February at 4:30 pm, Leon Chong, friend and associate of the Malaysian royal family, will personally give a lecture on Malaysia's textile tradition and the royal family's efforts to preserve it: "Malaysian heritage textiles and the role of the Palace in its preservation".
