Dr. Korakot Aromdee became the shooting star of Thai interior design in 2006. He is now known throughout Southeast Asia for his lamps, furniture and room installations whose designs are based on the idea of sustainability, tradition and innovation. Khun Korakot and his team make the fashionable objects from bamboo or hemp rope using traditional kite knotting techniques which he himself learned from his grandfather. Khun Korakot employs an entire village of basket weavers in his home region southeast of Bangkok, thus pursuing sustainable regional development in the best sense of the word. He has just completed a project for Louis Vuitton Thailand and immediately afterwards he is now presenting his work at the Arlberg for the first time.
