Skyspace Lech Guided Tour
There are places where not only sky and earth meet, but also two worlds. One such special place is located a bit above Oberlech at 1780 meters above sea level. There, at Tannegg, awaits in impressive alpine scenery and amidst the nature of Arlberg the Skyspace-Lech by the American artist James Turrell, an underground color-light space, as seemingly artificial and transcendent as it could be, combining the experience of art and nature.
Its true purpose is fulfilled at sunrise and sunset, when it showcases its full light magic. A light installation with composed color sequences immerses the ceiling and walls of the Skyspace in changing, colorful light.
The spectrum ranges from softly colored, diffuse color streaks to glowing, intense hues, which also seem to color the sky visible through the opening in the ceiling above the Skyspace.
During the tour, you will learn everything important about this special artwork at 1,780m elevation.
