In 2017 the pleasure fair Arlberg Weinberg took place for the third time in Lech Zürs am Arlberg. More than 50 winegrowers and exhibitors found their way to Lech and presented their products to trade visitors and interested guests.

Arlberg Weinberg in Retrospect

... especially in Lech Zürs am Arlberg. It is the people behind the products and services that will make "Arlberg Weinberg" an experience in the first place.

Let the Burgundy swivel in the glass again - just to be on the safe side. From the very first sip, the dry minerality, the discreet fruit sweetness and the berry aromas play pleasantly with each other on the palate. A look at the nicely arranged plate also promises anticipation: a fish confectioned in olive oil is enthroned on a colourful vegetable puree, miniature mushrooms and an applied moss-coloured jus imitate a forest floor, the cleverly placed herbs are certainly not only optical accessories. And before one dedicates oneself to the composition of field, water and forest in a calm way, one can look back at the wonderful day before one's eyes. Surrounded by the spectacular Alpine panorama in Lech Zürs am Arlberg.

I admit - as kitschy as it sounds, it's scenes like these that attract gourmets from all over the world to Lech Zürs.

It should also be mentioned that the fish is a char from Zug's fishpond, that the vegetables come from a partner company in Vorarlberg, that the herbs were bred directly and that it took hours of effort to produce the jus. The love of regional ingredients, the need to proudly present oneself and one's products from the surrounding area, has long since found its way into the Arlberg.

In view of the culinary diversity and passion that can be experienced here, one should not only talk about the cradle of skiing. The ambitions of gastronomy to perfection and the demands of the guests went hand in hand in Lech Zürs am Arlberg at an early stage. This has resulted in an unprecedented density of upscale restaurants and well-stocked wine cellars, which is attracting international attention.

And even if things are a bit quieter in Lech Zürs, it's only because awards and top events are not being announced loudly. The loyal guests at Lech Zürs also appreciate this: a spectacular natural scenery, alpine hospitality, luxurious lifestyle and first-class gastronomy that they can experience and enjoy without any compulsion. While individual gourmet events have already been able to combine all these components, the start of the 2017/18 winter season is the third time that gourmets and wine connoisseurs will have their dream come true.

Award winning winegrowers from Austria and Germany, as well as Switzerland and Italy, are coming to the Arlberg. They are joined by the local top gastronomy and numerous top producers from Vorarlberg. The whole package is embedded in the spectacular mountain panorama of Lech Zürs am Arlberg. This means: six days of exceptional enjoyment at the highest level!  The meeting of international winegrowers and wine lovers is a dream come true for the local gastronomy as well as for the discerning guests. Some of the best wines in the world are stored in the cellars of the restaurants and hotels, an award-winning gourmet cuisine follows the next, and winegrowers are regular guests in the European wine centre Lech Zürs. It is obvious that this ideal state of affairs will now culminate in a concentrated form in "Arlberg Weinberg".

The restaurant is transformed into a vinophile centre for "Arlberg Weinberg": On Thursday and Friday the treasures of the winegrowers can be tasted extensively from 13.00 to 18.30 o' clock. But we wouldn't be in Lech Zürs if the participating hotels and restaurants did not also provide delicious accents: the kitchen teams of the local top hotels and restaurants indulge visitors of the pleasure fair with the finest finger food every day. In a show kitchen, you can experience first-hand that true artists are at work here, handling the finest products.

It is the people behind the products and services that will make "Arlberg Weinberg" an experience in the first place. The resulting moments, taste experiences and conversations that make all these experiences even more tangible and lasting. And it is certainly no coincidence that Lech Zürs am Arlberg in particular is becoming an international hub for pleasurable lifestyles.
