The parish of Lech would be very proud if you decide to celebrate this special day in Lech, Zürs or Zug. It will gladly make the churches in the parish available to you. The local Catholic priest Jodok Müller will conduct your wedding ceeremony if it is possible to fit it into his schedule. The couples also often bring their own priest. In any case, you should be in agreement with the wedding regulations below and request a date.

Wedding regulations

The floral decorations, music and wedding priest/minister must be arranged by you. If there are several weddings on the same day, the couples will have to come to an agreement with each other regarding the floral decorations, since it is not possible to change them in between ceremonies (please ask the parish office about possible other weddings taking place in the same church on the same day).

Please note the following:

  • Do not hammer in nails anywhere and do not use adhesive tape
  • Do not scatter confetti on the spruce floor inside the church or in the cemetery. The cost of removing resulting acid spots can be high
  • Do not scatter rice in the church, in the entrance area or in the cemetery
  • Confetti and rice may only be thrown in the church square and you must clear them up immediately after the ceremony
  • The consumption of food and drink in our churches is strictly forbidden.
  • Local couples create the so-called "marriage protocol" necessary for the wedding together with our local priest; non-local couples have to contact the Catholic priest in the parish of their main place of residence.

The following documents (from the bride and groom) are necessary for the marriage protocol:

  • Official photo identification document
  • Birth certificate
  • Proof of residence (at the request of the parish)
  • Civil marriage certificate, if applicable
  • Abaptism certificate from baptised people (not required if baptised in Lech)
  • Baptism certificate supplement from the baptism office
  • If one of the persons getting married has already been married before, a document verifying the divorce with confirmation of its legal validity, the baptism certificate of the spouse (if applicable and possible), the marriage certificate (in the case of a previous church wedding), and the death certificate of the spouse or a state death declaration (if applicable) should be provided.
  • Adoption certificates are also to be provided where applicable.

Heating - in winter!

Because of old frescoes, the old church in Lech can only be heated to about 12 degrees Celsius. Warm clothing is therefore recommended.

Organ

Built by Anton Behmann in 1891 and restored by the Pflüger company in Feldkirch. It has an old, single keyboard and a shortened pedal. Connoisseurs praise its clear sound. External organists can ask the priest or church musician for the key.

Photographer

Please consult the priest/deacon in good time before the marriage ceremony.
