Delicacies for gourmets
Numerous gastronomic awards, the highest density of highly-rated restaurants compared with other international locations, an ambience which emphasises hospitality and epicureanism, the "LöffelWeise" series of gourmet events - the sophisticated mountain village of Lech am Arlberg offers all this. In 2008, it was named "World Gourmet Village" at the Vöslauer-Falstaff Awards. Its outstanding restaurants attract connoisseurs of good food from all over the world to epicurean flights of fancy at 1,450 metres above sea level and beyond.
More time, more space – time for enjoyment
That is the motto that Lech Zürs am Arlberg follows in terms of gastronomy. During the winter season, gourmets are pampered and can experience delicacies of the highest order. "The fact is that there are more and more guests who value Lech and Zürs not just for the pistes, but for the outstanding gastronomy," said Karl Hohenlohe, publisher of the Austrian Gault Millau. And Michelin stars, Falstaff forks and Gault Millau toques do not take a break during the summer months, when the snow can no longer be seen on the mountain tops and the Alpine meadows around Lech are in flower
The LöffelWeise (literally "by the spoonful") series of events, which is now in its eighth season, guarantees imaginative and aesthetic creations that work in perfect harmony with selected wines. The original idea of the initiators of LöffelWeise was to create a platform for culinary exchange between the chefs working in the region's restaurants, as well as with international guest chefs. Now the gourmet series has outgrown this intended knowledge transfer and brings together sommeliers, vintners and consultants from all over the world in a jovial atmosphere. The hearts and palates of food connoisseurs will delight in the concentrated taste experience of these themed evenings
