Every year, the Arlberg Music Festival is held in rotation in one of the founding villages. In 2017, consequently, Lech will be the location for the seventeenth time. Stefan Jochum has been the festival chairman for a few years now and has come up with quite a few ideas for the coming event: “What began quite modestly on the Rüfikopfplatz back then, has turned into one of the biggest festivals in the country. We are well aware of this, thus we have put together an impressive programme. For the Friday, for instance, we were able to sign up the internationally renowned VIERA BLECH, all of whom are true virtuosos on their instruments. On Saturday, the Jetzendorfer Hinterhofmusikanten from Bavaria will sweep the audience away with their brilliant show. Finally, on Sunday one of the brass music highlights - no doubt - will be the performance of the WOODYBLECHPECKERS, which will call out an >>Bohemian Moravian Exception State<<.”
Traditionally, culinary pleasures also play a major part during the Arlberg Music Festival, as Stefan Jochum knows very well: “It is impossible to imagine our festival tent without grilled chicken, but in addition to this there‘s a wide spectrum of culinary delights on offer."
The climax of the 67th Arlberg Music Festival, no doubt, will be the traditional parade on Sunday, when more than 1,500 musicians will march along the main through-road of Lech, with at least as many onlookers cheering them on.
